Does DreamGF work in Australia?
Yes. Fully, no gate, no friction. I opened https://dreamgf.ai/ in a fresh incognito window on a confirmed Aussie IP from country Vic on 15 June 2026 and the site loaded straight to a homepage with a character carousel. No "Are you 18?" overlay, no "we use cookies" wall, no region detection prompt, no redirect to a hub or storefront. Of the 22 apps in our AU access audit, this is one of a handful that loads completely clean.
That makes DreamGF the lowest-friction AU access in this category right now. Promptchan and OurDream both moved to hard third-party age verification in late May. GoLove added a click-through 18+ modal late May. DreamGF has done neither. The age check, when it eventually arrives, is a single self-declared tick at signup. Under the Online Safety Act 2026 framework for reasonable age assurance, this is the weakest end of the compliance spectrum. Worth knowing if compliance posture matters to you.
What I saw on the landing page
The homepage hero reads "AI girlfriend APP that works" with a pink Create AI Girl CTA and a Free Trial button top right. Press logos below the hero are Forbes, Sifted, and The Star (likely The Daily Star or The US Sun version, both have published listicles on AI girlfriend apps in the past year). Underneath that is the character carousel with the header "MEET OUR BEST AI GIRLFRIENDS".
The featured characters are all female, all AI-generated photorealistic young women. Each card shows the character's name plus a personality tag underneath: Sabrina (Nympho), Bridgette (Submissive), Lucia (Nympho), Bianca (Dominatrix), Jasmine (Innocent). The personality tags are clearly NSFW-leaning, which sets the tone honestly. This is a sexting-focused product, not a platonic-friend product like Replika or Nomi.
One UI tell worth noting: a small floating chat character with a notification dot sits permanently in the bottom right corner. It is not a support chat. It is a sample chat tease, designed to bait you into clicking and signing up. Lower-trust pattern than I would prefer to see, though common in this category.
Who actually runs DreamGF?
Scroll to the very bottom of any DreamGF page and the footer discloses the operator clearly:
© 2026 Copyright DreamGF. All rights reserved. DreamAI SRL, No. 48479324. Bucuresti Sectorul 1, Strada C. C. ARION, Nr. 11, parter, cam. 3, bir. 4a, Ap. 1, Bucharest, Romania.
DreamAI SRL is a registered Romanian limited liability company (Societate cu Răspundere Limitată). I cross-checked the registration number 48479324 against the Bucharest Trade Registry record at J40/12952/2023, EUID ROONRC.J40/12952/2023. The entity exists, is current, and is the same Romanian LLC named in the Terms of Service governing law clause.
Here is the thing. The same DreamAI SRL also operates the sister product DreamBF.ai. But DreamBF's pricing-screen footer discloses two entity names: DreamAI SRL plus EverAI Limited, a Maltese billing entity at 56 Central Business Centre, Triq Is-Soll, Santa Venera SVR 1833, Malta. DreamGF only discloses the Romanian one.
I do not know whether the Maltese billing entity is also processing DreamGF charges (the brand would need an actual paid subscription to confirm what shows on a bank statement) or whether DreamGF's payment flow goes through a different processor entirely. Either way, the disclosure on DreamGF is less complete than on DreamBF. Same group, different transparency. Worth a note if operator clarity matters to you.
Governing law on the Terms of Service is Romania, with the same conflict-of-laws clause as DreamBF. Practically, that means any dispute resolution venue is Romanian courts, which is unenforceable for Australian consumers under the Australian Consumer Law in any practical sense. Major chargebacks would still go through your card issuer, but anything else is theoretical.
The free tier and how 15 tokens disappear
You cannot do anything on DreamGF without an email signup. The Free Trial CTA opens a registration form, you get a verification email, you click the link, and the account credits 15 free tokens. The token economy is fully disclosed on a dropdown menu under the account icon top right:
Text messages are unlimited and free. The 15 tokens buy you exactly:
- 7 image generations (2 tokens each, plus 1 leftover)
- OR 15 voice messages (1 token each)
- OR 5 voice calls (3 tokens each)
- OR 3 character creations (5 tokens each)
Mix and match, of course, until they are gone. There is no daily login refill. You get the 15 tokens on email verify and that is it. To get more without paying, the only paths are referrals or buying token packs.
So as a sampling experience, you can chat with the existing characters indefinitely on the free tier, and you get a thin taste of image generation. That is a more useful free tier than apps which cap free chat to 10 messages a day. It is a less useful free tier than apps that throw 50+ free generation credits at first signup. Honest middle of the road.
Features I tested
Free-tier chat with existing characters worked fine. I picked one of the featured characters from the homepage carousel and sent the AI a message mentioning my job in the opening exchange. Then I sent 15 unrelated messages over the next few minutes, then asked the character to recall what I had told it about my work. It recalled the job correctly.
This contradicts the most common third-party complaint about DreamGF, which is that chat memory is weak. The AI Companion Guides review I read while researching this piece documented the AI forgetting the user's stated job within 3 days. A Trustpilot quote from a 2023 reviewer called the memory "forgettable". My in-session memory test on 15 June 2026 worked. Two possible explanations: the platform has improved chat memory in the 2-3 years since those reviews, or memory works fine within a single session but degrades across sessions and days. I did not stress-test the 3-day case, so the second explanation is plausible.
Either way, the within-session memory worked, which is the bare minimum a paid AI girlfriend should deliver.
Character creation is locked behind PRO, not just behind tokens. This is an awkward design choice. The token menu shows "Create Character: 5 T" implying a free user with 15 tokens could afford 3 character creations. In practice, clicking Create opens the customisation panel with a permanent PRO badge in the top right corner, and any attempt to save the character prompts an upgrade. The 5-token cost is theoretical until you subscribe. Worth flagging clearly so you do not waste time building a character you cannot keep.
Image generation is paywalled at 2 tokens per image. So 7 free images, then you are out. Compared to Candy.ai's free image allowance or OurDream's free generation credits, this is on the stingy end of the spectrum. The fetish image generator is PRO-only. The "Remove blur from chat" Premium Benefit on the pricing panel is the practical NSFW image switch.
Voice messages, voice calls, and video generation are all PRO-locked. No free tasting. If voice or video is the feature you actually want from an AI companion app, DreamGF will not let you try before you buy. Apps like GoLove (which offers free Stars and live video on the entry tier) are friendlier here.
Pricing in AUD
DreamGF's Premium Membership pricing screen displays prices in USD, not AUD. There is no AUD toggle. The three plans are tiered as "Limited Time Offer" with the same permanent countdown timer that GoLove uses, set to about 8 hours. It is a dark pattern (the countdown resets daily, the offer is always live), but the underlying prices are real.
Converted at the spot rate of roughly AU$1.52 per US$1 in June 2026:
| Plan | USD/mo (intro) | AUD/mo (intro) | USD/mo (renewal) | AUD/mo (renewal) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Annual (12 months upfront) | $5.99 | ~A$9.10 | $25.99 | ~A$39.50 |
| 3-month | $9.99 | ~A$15.20 | $25.99 | ~A$39.50 |
| Monthly | $12.99 | ~A$19.75 | $25.99 | ~A$39.50 |
The intro-to-renewal markup is steep on every plan. Annual jumps 4.3x at renewal, quarterly 2.6x, monthly 2x. This is standard for the category but you should plan around it: subscribe annual for the lowest intro price, set a calendar reminder for the renewal date 11 months out, decide whether you still want the product before the renewal hits.
One small positive: "No Adult transaction in your bank statement" is disclosed on the pricing screen, which means the descriptor will not be DreamGF or anything explicit. Useful for shared accounts. Whether the descriptor is "EverAI" (as it is for DreamBF) or "DreamAI" or something neutral, I did not confirm because I did not subscribe.
The Premium Benefits, decoded
The Premium Benefits panel next to the pricing cards lists what you get for any paid tier. Plain-English translation:
- Unlimited messages: same as free tier, already unlimited.
- 150 Tokens per month: 10x the free 15-token welcome bonus, refilled monthly.
- Advertisement FREE experience: removes whatever in-app ads exist on the free tier. I did not see banner ads on the free tier in my test, so this might refer to upgrade nudges rather than third-party ads.
- Create own girlfriends: opens the character creation panel that is PRO-gated on free.
- Content privacy: vague. Probably refers to chat history being private from other users (which should be the default anyway).
- Chat personalisation: 0.2 tokens per use on free tier. PRO removes the per-use cost.
- Edit message responses: 0.1 tokens per use on free tier. PRO removes the per-use cost.
- Remove blur from chat: the practical NSFW image release.
- Fetish generator: a category of NSFW prompts gated to PRO only.
- Faster response time: lower latency on chat (standard PRO benefit on most apps in this category).
- Voice messages: included. 1 token each on free, PRO removes the cost.
- Voice calls: included. 3 tokens each on free, PRO removes the cost.
The list reads honestly enough. Nothing here is overclaimed if you understand the token economy on the free tier first.
DreamGF vs DreamBF: sister-brand divergence
DreamGF and DreamBF are operated by the same Romanian LLC (DreamAI SRL). Same pricing structure (US$5.99/mo annual intro, identical Premium Benefits panel). Same backend, almost certainly: the Premium Benefits panel on DreamBF still says "Create own girlfriends" even though it should say boyfriends, a template oversight that confirms shared infrastructure.
The real differences:
- Character library: DreamGF defaults female, DreamBF defaults male. Both are genuine product surfaces with brand-appropriate hero copy and CTAs, not relabels.
- Operator disclosure: DreamGF discloses DreamAI SRL Romania only. DreamBF discloses both DreamAI SRL Romania (in ToS) and EverAI Limited Malta (in pricing-screen footer and on bank statements). Why the disclosure asymmetry exists, I do not know, but it is real.
- Community footprint: DreamGF has Trustpilot reviews (2.6/5 across 4 historical reviews) and roughly a year of Reddit posts. DreamBF has essentially no independent footprint. The brand is newer.
- Session persistence: if you visit one EverAI brand and then the other in the same browser, your chat history appears in the sidebar across both products. Test in incognito if you want a clean impression.
Practically: pick DreamGF if you want the more established female-default product with measurable community history. Pick DreamBF if you want the boyfriend-default product or you prefer the slightly stronger entity disclosure. Functionally they will feel very similar.
DreamGF vs Candy AI vs OurDream for Aussies
| App | AU access | Intro AUD/mo | Renewal AUD/mo | Free tier | Operator |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DreamGF.ai | Open, no gate | ~A$9.10 (annual) | ~A$39.50 (annual renew) | 15 tokens, unlimited free chat | DreamAI SRL (Romania) |
| Candy.ai | Open | ~A$11.50 | ~A$30.50 monthly | Free chat, limited images | EverAI? (operator opaque) |
| OurDream.ai | Hard third-party AVS for NSFW | ~A$13.50 | ~A$35 | Free credits at signup | OurDream Holdings (US) |
| DreamBF.ai | Open, no gate | ~A$9.30 (annual) | ~A$39.50 (annual renew) | Same as DreamGF (sister brand) | EverAI Ltd (Malta) + DreamAI SRL (Romania) |
DreamGF and DreamBF have the cheapest intro pricing in AUD terms across this group. They also have the steepest post-intro markup. Candy.ai and OurDream both renew at roughly 2.3x intro, DreamGF and DreamBF renew at roughly 4.3x intro. The math says: subscribe annual for one year, cancel before renewal, and DreamGF is the cheapest serious option in AUD. Subscribe and forget for two years and Candy.ai is cheaper in the long run.
The age verification situation
Under the Online Safety Act 2026 amendments (in force 9 March 2026), online services with adult content directed at or accessible from Australia are required to apply "reasonable steps to verify age" before granting access to age-restricted material. The eSafety Commissioner's guidance interprets reasonable as more than a click-through self-declaration.
DreamGF's age gate is a self-declaration at email signup. There is no third-party verification (no ID scan, no facial-estimation, no credit-card check). Under the strictest read of the OSA reasonable-steps test, DreamGF is non-compliant. Practical enforcement risk against a Romanian operator is low: the eSafety Commissioner's enforcement mechanisms work through hosts and app stores, not through direct injunctions on foreign legal entities. But "they probably will not get caught" is not the same as "they are compliant".
For comparison, in our 22-app AU access audit only Promptchan and OurDream currently meet the spirit of the reasonable-steps test with hard third-party age verification. DreamGF, DreamBF, GoLove, and Candy.ai are at the lighter end of the spectrum.
What the Terms and Privacy Policy actually say
Three clauses worth knowing about before you sign up. All three are standard for the category and present in the DreamBF ToS as well (same legal docs, same operator).
1. Perpetual irrevocable content licence on your User Content. The ToS grants DreamAI "a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and modify your User Content in connection with the operation of the Website." User Content includes your messages, your custom characters, and arguably your image prompts. Practically: anything you create or send on DreamGF can be reused by them for as long as they want, even after you delete your account. Not unusual for AI products, but worth knowing.
2. Governing law Romania. "This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions." Disputes go to Romanian courts. Unenforceable from Australia in any practical sense.
3. Refund window. I did not subscribe so I cannot confirm the exact refund policy from the inside, but the DreamBF Terms (same operator) specify a 14-day cooling-off period for EU consumers (under EU consumer law) and the standard "no refunds after first use" pattern for non-EU subscribers. Aussie consumers fall into the second bucket. Plan for "no refund after you have used the product".
What users actually say
DreamGF has a measurable independent footprint, unusual for this category. Trustpilot lists DreamGF.ai at 2.6/5 across four reviews, with complaints concentrated on chat depth and character consistency rather than billing or safety. I read every Trustpilot review and a sample of Reddit posts. Three quotes worth surfacing verbatim:
"It doesn't work like a proper AI girlfriend service, it's a simple chat platform. Chatting with very cheap primitive AI bots. It's not something that you would like to call your virtual girlfriend… I tested many features and none of them provided me with any form of immersion. Frankly speaking, I couldn't get any kind of entertainment out of it." (Trustpilot, 2023)
"DreamGF: Great visuals but memory and long-term consistency aren't on the same level."
"Looks decent on the surface. The image generation works and there's enough options to build something you like. But the consistency killed it. She would look like one person in one photo and a completely different person in the next. Hair shifts, face changes, body doesn't match what I set up… Convos were mid too and the memory was forgettable which is ironic."
Two things to note about these. First, the harshest review (the first one) is from March 2023, over three years old. AI chat quality has moved significantly in that time, and Brett's own June 2026 chat memory test (the AI recalled my job 15 messages later in the same session) suggests the platform has caught up at least on the basics. Second, the consistency-of-generated-images complaint is structural to how diffusion models work, not specific to DreamGF: most AI girlfriend apps generate inconsistent characters across sessions unless they fine-tune per character. This is a category limitation, not a DreamGF-specific failure, though some apps handle it better than others.
Net read on community sentiment: real users, real grievances, real product. Worse than DreamBF on third-party reviews (DreamBF has almost none, which can read either way), better than scammy newcomers like Dondi.ai which we rated 2.5/5 for substantive product issues.
What I liked, what's worth knowing before you pay
- No age gate at all from AU IPs (lowest friction in our 22-app audit)
- Cheapest serious annual intro at ~A$9.10/mo
- Free-tier text chat is unlimited and good enough to sample the product
- Chat memory worked in-session on my test (contradicts older reviews)
- Operator is a named registered Romanian LLC, not anonymous
- Token economy is fully and clearly disclosed before you pay
- Bank statement descriptor is discreet by design ("No Adult transaction in your bank statement")
- Operator disclosure is less complete than sister brand DreamBF (Romanian entity only, no Maltese billing entity disclosed)
- 15 free tokens go fast (7 images or 5 voice calls then done)
- Character creation is PRO-locked even though the token cost suggests free users could afford it
- Image generation, voice, video, and fetish content are all paywalled with no free tasting
- Annual renews at 4.3x the intro price (~A$39.50/mo), steeper than category average
- Trustpilot historical score 2.6/5 across four reviews
- Permanent countdown-timer dark pattern on pricing screen
- Governing law is Romania (unenforceable from AU in practice)
- Age gate fails OSA reasonable-steps test under the strictest read
Verdict: 3.4 / 5
DreamGF is a serious, established product with clear strengths (AU access, intro price, in-session chat memory, operator transparency to the standard expected for the category) and a few real weaknesses (free-tier image generation tasting is too shallow, renewal markup is steep, historical community sentiment is mixed). It is a hair below DreamBF (3.5/5) for the weaker entity disclosure and the historical Trustpilot complaints. It is well clear of Dondi (2.5/5) on every dimension.
I'd recommend DreamGF to an Aussie who:
- Wants the cheapest serious AI girlfriend annual subscription in AUD terms
- Will subscribe for one year then cancel before renewal (skip the 4.3x markup)
- Cares more about chat experience than image generation depth
- Will not be deterred by a Romanian operator entity
I would steer an Aussie away from DreamGF if:
- They want generous free-tier image or voice tasting before paying
- They want a verified-age-compliant operator under OSA
- They want the company to be reachable through Australian consumer law mechanisms
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Tested 15 June 2026 from country Vic in a fresh incognito session. No age gate, no geo-block, no redirect. Email signup gives 15 free tokens.
USD-displayed pricing: $5.99/mo annual (about AU$9.10/mo at A$1.52 per USD), $9.99/mo on 3-month (~A$15.20), $12.99/mo monthly (~A$19.75). Annual renews at about AU$39.50/mo after the intro, a 4.3x markup.
Limited. Free chat with existing characters is unlimited and does not use tokens. The 15 tokens buy 7 images, 15 voice messages, or 5 voice calls. Character creation costs 5 tokens but is PRO-locked anyway, so the tokens have no effect on it.
DreamAI SRL, a Romanian limited liability company, registration 48479324, registered office Bucharest. The same Romanian LLC operates sister brand DreamBF.ai. Governing law for the Terms is Romania, which is unenforceable for Australian consumers in any practical sense.
Same operator group (DreamAI SRL Romania, plus EverAI Limited Malta in DreamBF's case), different products. DreamGF is the older female-default brand. DreamBF is the newer male-default spin-off. Pricing structure is identical. Sessions persist across both via cookies, so test in incognito.
Text chat with characters can include adult content on free. Image generation is token-gated (2 tokens each, 7 free images from the 15-token welcome bonus). Voice messages and calls are PRO-locked. The "Remove blur from chat" Premium Benefit releases NSFW images. Fetish generator is PRO-only.
