AI Girlfriend Cost in Australia: Every App in AUD

13 plan screens checked from an AU IP, 3 August 2026 · USD converted at AU$1.4249
Quick answer: Commit to a 12-month term and an AI girlfriend app costs roughly A$6 to A$21 a month. Pay month to month and it's A$18 to A$57. The cheapest genuine option is Candy.ai at A$5.99/month on its 12-month plan, billed in Australian dollars with no conversion and no FX fee. The most expensive is Kupid.AI, which quotes $12.99 a week, about A$80 a month.
Rebuilt 3 August 2026. This guide used to assume every platform charges monthly in USD. Checking thirteen live plan screens from an Australian IP showed that's wrong. Two platforms bill in Australian dollars directly. Two quote per week. Two quote per day. Several sell an intro price that renews at two to three times the rate. The guide is now organised by how each platform charges, because that turns out to matter more than the headline number. Every price in the table below was read off the live plan screen from an Australian IP on 3 August 2026.

How much do AI girlfriend apps cost in Australia?

The honest answer is that it depends less on which app you pick than on which billing period you accept. The same product can cost you A$6 or A$20 a month depending on whether you commit to a year.

Here's the real spread, as monthly-equivalent Australian dollars, cheapest committed term first:

Two things fall out of that table that the old version of this guide missed entirely. Candy.ai on a yearly commitment is the cheapest way into this category by a clear margin, and it bills in Australian dollars so there's no FX fee on top. And Kupid.AI, which looked mid-priced when its weekly figure was mistaken for a monthly one, is actually the most expensive option here by a factor of four.

The four ways these apps charge you

Every platform in this guide uses one of four models. Knowing which one you're looking at tells you more than the price does.

1. Billed in Australian dollars

Candy.ai and GoLove AI. The price you see is the price your card is charged. No conversion, no foreign transaction fee, no rate risk. Candy.ai shows A$19.99 a month, A$12.60 on a 3-month term, or A$5.99 on 12 months (A$71.88 for the year). GoLove shows A$28.44 monthly or A$14.21 on the annual plan (A$170.53 upfront).

This is genuinely better for Aussie buyers and almost nobody mentions it. On a A$20 subscription, avoiding a 3% FX fee and a bank margin saves you somewhere around A$1 a month. Small, but it's real, and it's the one thing in this category that's unambiguously in your favour.

2. Quoted per week

JOI and Kupid.AI. This is the model to watch. A weekly headline sits next to monthly competitors and reads as cheap when it isn't. Kupid quotes $12.99 a week. That's about US$56 a month, roughly A$80, which is four times what Candy.ai's annual plan costs. JOI quotes $3.22 a week on its 1-month plan and states "pay as little as $13.99 monthly" in smaller text underneath, so roughly A$20 a month.

Neither is doing anything hidden. Both state the terms. But if you're comparing across a browser tab of six platforms, a weekly figure will make one look four times cheaper than it is.

3. Quoted per day

DarLink AI and Get-Harder. Same principle, smaller number. DarLink leads with $0.43, $0.93 and $1.67 a day, which are $12.99, $27.99 and $49.99 a month. Get-Harder leads with $0.66, $0.49 and $0.33 a day depending on term length.

A daily price is the most flattering way to present a subscription and it's worth mentally converting before you compare. Multiply by 30, not by 7.

4. Intro price that renews higher

Get-Harder, DreamBF and DreamGF. This is the one that costs people real money. The advertised price applies to your first term only.

Get-Harder is the starkest: $119.99 for the first 12 months, then $299.99 a year on renewal. That's about A$171 becoming A$427. Its 1-month plan is $19.99 then $39.99. Its 3-month is $44.99 then $99.99. DreamBF and DreamGF both advertise "up to 75% off your first subscription", with the annual anchoring against $311.88.

If you take one thing from this guide: on any platform using this model, put the renewal date in your calendar the day you subscribe.

What each platform actually includes

Candy.ai, A$5.99 to A$19.99

Unlimited text messages, 100 tokens a month, 18+ image and video generation, live action, and character creation. The 100-token allowance is the catch: images are metered, so heavy image users will be topping up regardless of which term they pick. The 12-month plan at A$5.99 is the best value in this guide and it isn't close. Compared against OurDream.ai, the break-even sits around 50 images a month.

OurDream.ai, ~AU$14 (annual)

Premium at $9.99/month billed $119.88 yearly, including 1,000 Dreamcoins a month, which covers 200 images, 20 minutes of voice calls or 10 videos. Unlimited messages and audio messages. There's also a Deluxe tier at $29.99/month annual with 5,000 bonus coins. The true month-to-month price isn't confirmed; the yearly tab anchors against $39.99, which may or may not be what monthly buyers actually pay.

DarLink AI, ~AU$18.50 to ~AU$71

Three tiers. Essential at $12.99 gets 100 coins and 6,000 messages a month with basic memory. Advanced at $27.99 gets 300 coins, 9,000 messages, enhanced memory and premium voices. Ultimate at $49.99 gets 500 coins, unlimited messages and the Elite Roleplay Engine. Quarterly saves 15%, yearly saves 44%. Note this guide previously listed DarLink at $7.99, which was wrong.

GoLove AI, A$14.21 (annual)

Billed in AUD, includes 50 Stars a month, 100 image generations and 20 video generations on the annual plan. The monthly plan carries the same 50 Stars but only 50 images and 10 videos, for double the price. GoLove roughly halved these allowances in August 2026; they were previously 100 Stars, 200 images and 40 videos at a similar price.

Promptchan, ~AU$17 to ~AU$38.50

Plus at $11.99 (100 gems), Premium at $18.99 (400 gems), Pro at $26.99 (unlimited casual generations plus 800 gems, full-length video, voice calls). All three tiers include AI chat, so the common description of Promptchan as image-generation-only is out of date.

GirlfriendGPT, ~AU$17 to ~AU$21.50

Premium is $15 a month, or $12 a month on 12 months ($144 a year, down from $180). That's a 20% annual saving. The site also runs a separate "34% off" banner promotion, which is not the annual discount and shouldn't be read as one. Premium includes 400 coins and 5,000 messages a month, in-chat image and video generation, and voice.

Secrets.ai, ~AU$13 to ~AU$57

Two tiers, each sold monthly or yearly, and the yearly discount is the steepest in this guide. Premium is ~AU$13/month on the yearly plan (billed $109.99 USD, marked 77% off) but ~AU$28.50 month to month. Ultimate is ~AU$38 yearly against ~AU$57 monthly. The $39.99 and $79.99 figures on the plan screen are struck-through anchors, not the price you pay. A 2.2x gap still makes the yearly plan the only sensible way to buy it. Premium includes 8,000 Moments a month and 4x memory recall; Ultimate adds group chats, personas and 15,000 Moments. The charge appears as S LABS INC. on your statement.

Xotic AI, ~AU$18 to ~AU$35.50

One plan at three billing periods, not separate tiers. Monthly is $24.99 (~AU$35.50), quarterly works out to $16.66/month ($49.99 upfront, ~AU$23.50), yearly to $12.50/month ($149.99 upfront, ~AU$18). Every period includes 1,000 XOT a month deposited upfront, unlimited character creation, voice calling and video generation. Note this guide previously listed Xotic as a two-tier product at $11.99 and $19.99, which was wrong.

Luvr.AI, ~AU$8.50 to ~AU$13

Sold on 6-month and 12-month terms only. There is no month-to-month plan, though a $19.99/month rate is shown as a strikethrough anchor. The free tier is 10 messages a day with no image generation, NSFW, voice or video. Luvr advertises a 30-day guarantee, which is the most generous refund window found in this category.

Free tiers: which ones are actually usable?

Short version below. For the exact daily limits on each, and what breaks first, see our guide to free AI girlfriend apps in Australia.

Worth trying for free

  • GoLove AI, functional free tier, no age gate, live video works
  • Promptchan, free daily gem allowance genuinely lets you judge output quality
  • JOI, 50 messages a day and 5 Dream Clips a month, the most generous free tier here

Free tier is basically a demo

  • Luvr.AI, 10 messages a day, no images, no NSFW, no voice or video
  • GirlfriendGPT, 15 to 20 messages, no NSFW, no images
  • Candy.ai, very restricted, mostly shows you the interface

What your bank actually charges

This only applies to the USD platforms. On Candy.ai and GoLove AI there's no conversion at all, so this section is irrelevant to them.

For everything else, a standard bank credit card adds a foreign transaction fee of 1.5 to 3% on top of an exchange rate that's already a few percent worse than mid-market. On an AU$18.50 subscription that's maybe AU$0.50 to AU$0.90 a month. Over a year, around AU$10.

The AUD figures in this guide convert at AU$1.4249 per USD, the European Central Bank reference rate published 31 July 2026. That rate moved between AU$1.378 and AU$1.4552 over the four months to August 2026, so treat any precise-looking converted figure as an estimate. The AUD-billed platforms are the only ones where the number is exact.

Avoiding billing surprises

A few platforms here have documented billing complaints. GirlfriendGPT's Trustpilot rating of 2.9/5 includes double charges and unresponsive support. Regardless of platform:

Our pick for AU users: Candy.ai on the 12-month plan at A$5.99/month, billed in Australian dollars. It's the cheapest option in this guide, it's the most established platform in the category, and there's no FX fee. If you won't commit to a year, Promptchan Plus at ~AU$17/month is the best no-commitment option. See our full rankings for everything beyond price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an AI girlfriend cost in Australia?
On a 12-month commitment, roughly A$6 to A$21 a month. Month to month, roughly A$18 to A$57. The cheapest is Candy.ai at A$5.99/month on 12 months, billed in Australian dollars. The most expensive is Kupid.AI's weekly plan at $12.99 a week, about A$80 a month. Figures verified from live plan screens on 3 August 2026; USD amounts convert at AU$1.4249.
Do AI girlfriend apps charge in AUD or USD?
Most charge in USD, but not all. Candy.ai and GoLove AI both bill in Australian dollars directly, so there's no conversion and no foreign transaction fee. For the USD platforms your bank converts at its own rate and typically adds 1.5 to 3%. A card with no FX fee (Wise or Up) saves a small amount each month.
Which AI companion app is cheapest in Australia?
Candy.ai at A$5.99/month on its 12-month plan (A$71.88 for the year), billed in AUD. Luvr.AI is next at about AU$8.50/month on 12 months, followed by Dondi.ai at about AU$8.55. Among no-commitment options, Promptchan Plus at about AU$17/month is the cheapest.
Why do some AI girlfriend apps quote a weekly price?
Because a small number looks better next to monthly competitors. JOI quotes $3.22 a week and Kupid.AI quotes $12.99 a week. Kupid's weekly plan works out to about A$80 a month, roughly four times what Candy.ai's annual plan costs. Always convert a weekly figure by multiplying by 4.33 before comparing.
Which AI girlfriend apps raise the price after the first term?
Get-Harder, DreamBF and DreamGF all advertise intro pricing. Get-Harder is the most significant: $119.99 for the first 12 months, then $299.99 a year on renewal, which is about A$171 becoming A$427. DreamBF and DreamGF both advertise up to 75% off the first subscription only.
Is it worth paying for an annual plan?
Usually yes, if you'll use it beyond two or three months. Candy.ai drops from A$19.99 to A$5.99 a month, a 70% saving. DarLink's yearly saves 44%. GirlfriendGPT's saves 20%. The risk is being locked in, and on intro-priced platforms the second year can cost far more than the first. Luvr.AI's 30-day guarantee is the safest way to trial a long commitment.
Are there free AI girlfriend apps in Australia?
Yes. JOI has the most generous free tier at 50 messages a day plus 5 Dream Clips a month. GoLove AI and Promptchan both have usable free tiers. Luvr.AI's is 10 messages a day with no images or voice. Candy.ai and GirlfriendGPT's free tiers are demos rather than something you could use.
